Tibbo WA1000 Wi-Fi SPI Module

Introduction

The WA1000 is a Wi-Fi module for use with the EM1000 BASIC-programmable embedded module.

The WA1000 piggy-backs on top of the EM1000 and communicates with the latter via a high-speed SPI interface. The module features an integrated chip antenna. Additional external antenna can also be connected for better range.

The WA1000 is fully supported in the Tibbo BASIC programming environment via a sophisticated Wi-Fi (wln.) object available on the EM1000W platform.

• Implements 802.11b interface*.
• Works with the EM1000 BASIC -programmable embedded module.
• Compact dimensions (37.0 x 25.0 mm).
• Chip antenna onboard, coaxial connector (I-PEX MHF) for external antenna.
• Power LED (red) onboard.
• Internal power switch allows complete power-down.
• Installation options:
  • On top of the EM1000;
  • Directly on the host PCB**;
• Fully supported by the Wi-Fi (wln.) object of the EM1000W programming platform.

* 802.11g version of the add-on board is under development.
