From GSM to HSDPA technology and from Java™ to RIL driver functionality - this defines the range of features which are integrated into the products of the category modules. There is, for example, the HC25 which is based on the high-speed data transmission standard HSDPA and offers up to 3.6 Mbit/s, or the MC75 which transmits data via the EDGE standard – the fastest standard in the GSM network – or the TC35i which offers just GSM connectivity. And there are a lot of modules between these, each dedicated for a specific use, in order to offer you the module you require for your application.

The platforms ensure compatibility within and also between the families. This allows you to benefit from the flexibility to switch from one module to the next without investing in application redevelopment. The six modules are designed for industrial applications, each with a different focus when it comes to Java™ technology, EDGE or GPRS functionality. All come with Quad-Band technology, TCP-IP stack and a variety of industrial interfaces. The TC65i and TC65 also feature the Java™ open platform which enables you to develop applications directly on the modules’ processor and memory. The MC75i and MC75 focus on transmission speed and come with EDGE, the fastest transmission standard in GSM networks today. All in all they provide you with flexibility for your development of industrial M2M applications.

The MC75i, TC65i, and TC63i product platform brings big benefits to your business with EDGE, GPRS, GSM, and Java™ technology, optimised size and performance that comes courtesy of an ARM9 processor, and an RLS Monitor (Jamming Detection). Apart from the difference in lengths, the new platform’s modules are compatible with the MC75, TC65, and TC63 modules. Built on a common technology platform, the three new modules offer Quad-Band GSM, TCP/IP functionality, and M2M interfaces such as a serial or I²C bus. Engineered for compatibility, they share the same size, mounting array, and command set. The different modules’ data transmission speeds and the Java™ open platform functionality vary to meet the needs of various M2M applications such as metering, security, remote maintenance, and control. The MC75i, allowing you to deploy this technology wherever you need to transmit certain data. The MC75i also features a TCP/IP stack, serial and USB ports, and an RIL driver for Microsoft© Windows Mobile™-based devices.

Wireless Module TC63i

Top-of-the-scale M2M connectivity

Featuring GPRS class-12 functionality and an integrated TCP/IP stack, the TC63i comes without the onboard software developer platform. And that makes it your solution of choice for M2M applications that already use a microcontroller but need a high-performance wireless communications link. The TC63i is the entry-level option in this triple-module package. You can use it to satisfy basic GPRS needs, and as demand for EDGE technology grows, step up to the MC75i without investing to redevelop the application.
