Our “Dedicated Vertical” Modules meet the very specific requirements of the market they address. The Automotive Modules meet the automotive industry’s rigorous quality standards, the highest on the market, and offer special features to satisfy this unique industry’s demands. They provide, for example, antenna diagnostic, a robust antenna connector and SIM access profile.
Our Tracking Modules most prominent feature is the onboard GPS receiver. The integrated GPS tracking service allows the location of objects, vehicles or persons making these modules optimised for fleet management and vehicle recovery systems.
Automotive Modules
Rough environments that reach temperatures of up to 85°C are child’s play for the AC75, one of three products described as rugged. And there are even more features which makes these modules predestined for applications demanding special qualities: The modules meet all relevant quality standards used in the automotive sector like the VDA standard for voice transmission. In addition, they were developed in accordance with TS16949. In addition they are developed according to TS16949. They are provided with antenna diagnostic, a robust SMP antenna connector and they feature SIM access profile (SAP). Siemens offers different modules for this market: The Java™ based Quad-Band modules AC65 and AC75, the latter featuring the EDGE data-transmission standard, and the Dual-Band GPRS module AC45.

The AC45 is a GSM/GPRS-based radio module that has been optimised for tough use in the automotive sector. The exceptionally fast data transfer via GPRS facilitates the realization of any conceivable application in this field.
The Wireless Module AC45. The advantages of the AC45 lie not least in the high level of temperature-resistance. By launching this product onto the marketplace, Cinterion Wireless Modules has produced the first module to offer error-free operation up to a temperature of over 75 degrees Celsius.
In view of the relatively long product cycles in the automotive sector, Cinterion Wireless Modules also guarantees long availability of its radio module. On top of all this, the AC45 is the first module to incorporate SIM Access Profile (SAP). This means that all voice and telematic services within a vehicle can access information on the cell phone's SIM card via Bluetooth, without the driver having to take the card out of the phone. |
